Northland is an historic area with both the Maori and Europeans choosing this area to settle first. In Waitangi on February the 6th 1840 a treaty was signed between Maori chiefs and the British Crown.This is the founding document of New Zealand and is celebrated with an annual holiday.

Northland has a wonderful climate and is refered to as the'Winterless North'. In the Summer months the area is host to legions of holiday makers. Northland has some beautiful beaches and is famous for its Big Game Fishing.

Whangarei is Northlands only city with the rest of Northland being sparsely populated especially during the winter months.
