Hawkes Bay is famous for its fruit , wine and endless sunshine.The area was the first site of New Zealand's first winery and continues to produce some of the countries finest wine. 

The 'Art Deco' buildings in Hawkes Bay are famous.This building design is so prevalent  due to a massive earthquake which struck the region in 1931.Unfortunately 256 people were killed and is New Zealand's worst natural disaster.
