Climate

New Zealand has largely a temperate climate. The seasons in New Zealand are off course the reverse of the Northern Hemisphere with the warmest months being from December through to March, while the coldest months are June to August. The average temperature in the summer months ranges from 20-30c.The average in the winter months ranges from 10-15c but can get down to -10 in inland parts of the South Island.

Because of New Zealand's geography the weather can be very changeable. A mild day can turn into a wintery one very quickly. So if you plan to venture into the outdoors be prepared.
