At the Milford Deep Underwater Observatory visitors
descend 10.4 metres, down beneath the surface of this
world famous fiord. Once down in the viewing chamber
people are able to view, from within a metre, intimate and
undisturbed life in a vibrant underwater community.
Courtship displays, territorial disputes, raising young
and real life dramas unfold as nature's cycles come and
go. Rare deep-water species such as black and red corals
can be viewed in their natural environment.
Visitations by cruise boat or shuttle boat.
